Who should consider donating to ASL?
Anyone interested in economic growth and the building of a knowledge-based economy in Spokane and the Northwest should think about financially supporting ASL. It's just that simple. Any such future growth effort requires a modern research organization, and ASL is uniquely qualified to provide the cornerstone of research in the physical sciences and engineering.
Your donation to ASL will:
- Provide economic stimulus through the creation of well-funded positions, future expansion, and the potential for technology transfer, including commercial spin offs.
- Help SIRTI and other agencies attract high technology companies to Spokane.
- Enhance the visibility of physical sciences and engineering, which serves as an excellent complement to the region's growing health sciences industry.
- Attract talented researchers to our area through new funds and initiatives.
- Help ASL maintain state of the art facilities and equipment.
- Increase partnerships and associations with regional companies.
- Develop the next generation of scientists and researchers by providing research opportunities for faculty/students from local educational institutions.
- Add to the momentum and excitement around the local scientific community.
But doesn't ASL receive government funding already?
Yes, but those funds can only be used for research itself, not for the building of facilities and infrastructure, paying non-research personnel, or soliciting grants and contracts. Therefore, your support is necessary in order to ensure the long-term viability of ASL. Our ability to accomplish our mission is dependent on support from corporations and individuals like you.
Be a visionary. Join with other leaders and support the ASL. You'll also be supporting science, technology, and an economy of opportunity for Spokane. Contact Karin Olsen (karinolsen@wsu.edu) or call 509-358-7565 for more information.
